The World of Ora
This is the home page for the ongoing campaign of Ora, a fantasy setting created with the help of Dungeons and Dragons rules. Ora has been, at times, a 2E, 3E, and 3.5E game and is now considered 3.5E Modified; much of the rules are the same as 3.5 but with quite a few tweaks to suit the setting.
We are currently looking for 1-2 additional players, preferably those who enjoy playing as rogue/bard/leader types, but welcome all mature newcomers. New players should expect a roleplay and story driven game, rather than one that relies purely on mechanics, modules, and experiences from MMOs or old RPGs to frame the world.
Ora is a dangerous, home-grown place. Here on these pages, especially the wiki, you will find details about the world that you’ll be playing in. Much of the information, however, is hidden behind the need for players to possess specific skills (usually in the form of knowledges). This lets players become as involved (or uninvolved) as they want. As the creator of Ora, I like to tell my players that any given situation or plot has at least 3 layers of development: The event that happened, why the event happened, and what/who motivated the event. As a player you can involve yourself as shallowly or deeply into the politics and maneuverings of the world as you wish.
